MILESTONES
Our journey began with the launch of a window air conditioner in 0.75 and 1 ton capacities, soon followed by a slim split AC, a concept unheard of in the Indian market at the time. At the core of these breakthroughs was Mr S. K. Mishra, our founding director, who understood the fine art of comfort cooling.
Even our name has a story, inspired by the feeling of being on a smooth “cruise” the moment the air conditioner came alive. It was the beginning of a legacy that would grow into one of the best air conditioner brands in India.
Comfort is more than simply reaching a cool temperature. It depends on how quickly the room cools, how evenly air circulates, and how naturally the system blends into everyday living. We realised that many air conditioners focused only on cooling capacity and ignored the actual feeling of airflow inside a room. This insight inspired India’s first Dual Throw Window AC, known as the Dinosaur.
By delivering airflow from both sides of the unit, it created faster, wider, and more consistent cooling. This idea set a new benchmark for smarter and more comfortable air conditioning.
After years of designing for leading Indian and Japanese brands, Cruise was approached with a unique challenge. Mumbai, the heart of Indian cinema, demanded portable cooling solutions for film stars working long hours under harsh outdoor lights and high temperatures. To meet this requirement, we created our first portable air conditioner with wheels, offering mobility, faster cooling, and reliable comfort on hectic sets.
This breakthrough quickly became a favourite within the entertainment industry and demonstrated how adaptable and user focused Cruise innovation can be across many demanding environments.
As lifestyles continued to evolve, Cruise also progressed. We refreshed our brand identity to match changing expectations and introduced two important innovations, the 5-in-1 VarioQool split AC and the 5-in-1 PortaQool movable AC. These products offered flexibility, style, and powerful cooling for modern users. Together, they reflect our commitment to creating future ready air conditioning solutions focused on performance, comfort, and thoughtful design.
